GTU has established Innovation Council to encourage the innovation and creativity among the student community to chase the limitations of engineering education and think beyond to develop as an innovator. Activities for Patent Search and Patent Filing are the unique movement GTU has initiated. Except this Industry Defines Project and User Define Project works are also included in the academic programme for the industry oriented learning.

Beyond Engineering, various programs like Bridge Course and Contributor Personality Development Program offered to Diploma and Degree Engineering programme helps the students in cultivating from a knowledge seeker in to a professional. 

GTU has signed MoU with Bosch Rexroth, Germany to establish “Centre for Excellence” across the state investing about Rs. 50 million to enable the engineering students with the practical knowledge and develop as a global workforce.
